Flexible FlowMon probe is hardware accelerated passive monitoring probe designed for high speed networks. The probe does first stage metering process and exports aggregated data in various protocols, like NetFlow v5/v9 or IPFIX.

This is the documentation for the firmware part of the project, where the architecture and address space is thoroughly described.

Features:

Passive hardware monitoring at L2, L3, L4 and possibly on higher layers

Invisibility on any of the layers

Flexible design, using XML to build the probe structure

Lower chip utilization than the predecessors and possibly higher throughput.
