1   Introduction

The FlowMon team takes the probe development very seriously and is constantly working on making the probe as usable as possible. In spite of the fact some problems and bugs may occur. This errata document contains additional information on how to handle known FlowMon probe problems. It is important to consult this document to learn about any post-release discoveries or problems that may already have been found and fixed.

2   Known Problems and Solutions

2.1   Race condition in szedata module

Problem Description

A race condition exists in the szedata kernel module, which can potentially cause a machine crash. This bug affects FlowMon 1.0.3 package and earlier.

Workaround

Do not use more than two exporters simultaneously.

Solution

Upgrade your installation to FlowMon 1.1.0 or later.

2.2   Linux kernel SMP support

Problem Description

A bug in the kernel driver causes a machine crash. This bug affects Linux machines with SMP kernel and installed FlowMon 1.0.3 package and earlier.

Workaround

Disable the SMP support.

Solution

Upgrade your installation to FlowMon 1.1.0 or later.

2.3   Bogus gigantic flows

Problem Description

A bug in the firmware causes bogus gigantic flows in exported NetFlow datagrams. This bug affects FlowMon 1.0.2 package and earlier.

Workaround

No workaround is available.

Solution

Upgrade your installation to FlowMon 1.0.3 or later.
