1   Introduction

The release notes for nic-2.0.0 package contains a summary of the changes made since nic-1.2.0 package. It describes recently added, changed or deleted tools or other features of NIC project.

nic-2.0.0 package is available at 'http://www.liberouter.org/clients/'. Process of installing this package is described in README file inside the package. Information about NIC project can be found at 'http://www.liberouter.org/' in the NIC section.

2   What's new

NIC 2.0.0 is a release distribution. This is the first Liberouter package based on NetCOPE technology. This package also contains installation framework with liberouterpkg tool to enable easy package switching and uninstalling. Due to this you have to fully uninstall any previously installed Liberouter package that doesn't contain liberouterpkg tool.

We have improved our documentation, so basic information needed for successfull package installation can be found in the README file. On the other side, more detailed information can be found in new NIC over NetCOPE Handbook located in the doc\ directory inside the package.

3   Upgrading from previous releases of the NIC package

If you are upgrading from a previous release of the NIC package please remove ALL previously installed Liberouter tool (including libraries and drivers).
